Adult Care (L4 & L5) Assessor

Shape futures. Change lives. Build careers.

If you’re an experienced Adult Care Assessor who wants more than just a caseload — if you want to genuinely inspire, support and make a lasting difference —t his could be the perfect next step.

We’re partnering with a progressive and people-focused training provider that’s quietly building something special. With a strong foundation in Cornwall and exciting expansion across the Midlands, Yorkshire, London and beyond, they’re on a journey to deliver exceptional, learner-first training on a national scale.

This is your chance to be part of that growth — bringing your expertise, passion and personality into a role where your impact will be felt every single day.

Main Purpose

This isn’t a “tick-box” assessor role. It’s an opportunity to coach, mentor and empower learners working in adult care — helping them build confidence, competence and meaningful careers in a sector that truly matters.

You’ll work closely with each learner as an individual, understanding their goals, strengths and challenges, and guiding them every step of the way.

From first enrolment through to End Point Assessment, you’ll play a key role in ensuring learners not only succeed — but thrive.

Responsibilities

No two days are the same—but you’ll be at the heart of a supportive, learner-focused journey:

  • Delivering engaging 1:1 teaching, coaching and support sessions (with future opportunities for group delivery and innovation)
  • Supporting learners through Level 4 and Level 5 Adult Care apprenticeship standards
  • Carrying out workplace assessments and meaningful progress reviews that motivate and inspire
  • Creating tailored learning plans and setting SMART targets that drive real progress
  • Providing high-quality, constructive feedback that builds confidence and capability
  • Embedding English and maths naturally into learning (no Functional Skills delivery required)
  • Working collaboratively with employers to support learner development and identify new opportunities
  • Monitoring progress using systems such as Aptem and OneFile
  • Ensuring compliance with awarding body standards and quality frameworks

You’ll manage a caseload of around 45 learners, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships while maintaining a structured and manageable workload.

You’ll be trusted to manage your own diary and work in a way that suits both you and your learners.

  • Primarily remote delivery
  • Travel required based on learner and employer needs (typically at least one in-person visit per learner)
  • Flexibility to plan your schedule around effective learner engagement

About you

You’re not just experienced — you’re passionate about people.

You understand that great assessment is about more than evidence —i t’s about encouragement, clarity and belief in others.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience delivering and assessing Adult Care apprenticeships
  • A recognised assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/33 or equivalent)
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards, EPA and learner journeys
  • Confidence using e-portfolio systems (e.g. OneFile, Aptem)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Most importantly, you’ll care deeply about helping learners succeed and be motivated by seeing them grow.
