Construction Trainer

Are you ready to take your construction expertise off-site and into the classroom? If you're passionate about passing on your skills, enjoy working with people from all walks of life, and want to play a key role in building the future of the UK construction workforce — this could be the perfect next step.

A respected and values-driven training organisation is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Trainer to join their growing team. You'll be working across the Liverpool City Region, delivering high-quality, engaging training that helps learners of all levels gain practical construction skills, recognised qualifications, and a strong sense of site safety and professionalism.

Main Purpose

As a Construction Trainer, you'll be far more than just a tutor. You’ll become a mentor, a coach, and a role model to aspiring tradespeople. Whether it’s someone picking up a trowel for the first time or a labourer looking to become site management material — your support and knowledge could be life-changing.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging, inclusive, and safe training sessions to a range of learners.
  • Designing and adapting lesson plans to meet individual needs and group dynamics.
  • Using digital tools and platforms (Microsoft 365, Teams, etc.) to enhance learning.
  • Assessing progress, providing feedback, and supporting personal learning goals.
  • Encouraging peer learning, teamwork, and positive behaviours.
  • Keeping accurate records of learner attendance, development and feedback.
  • Meeting key KPIs relating to learner retention, achievement, and progression.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and team meetings.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal and external standards.

We’re looking for someone who combines hands-on industry experience with a genuine passion for teaching and developing others.

Essential Requirements

  • Background in construction (trade-specific or general site operations).
  • Recognised qualifications (NVQ, CITB certifications or equivalent).
  • Trainer/Assessor qualifications (or willingness to achieve).
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to motivate and support learners.
  • Proficiency with digital learning tools and Microsoft 365.
  • A positive, professional, and collaborative approach.
  • Commitment to continuous personal development (CPD).
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and work independently or as part of a team

This is more than a job — it’s a chance to give something back to the industry that shaped you. You’ll be joining an organisation that:

  • Is passionate about transforming lives through education.
  • Values innovation, inclusivity and integrity.
  • Provides full training and ongoing CPD opportunities.
  • Offers a supportive, mission-led working environment.
  • Champions equality, diversity, and progression for all learners and staff
