Electrical Installation Instructor
Ready for a career that gives back?
If you’ve spent years building your reputation on-site — installing, testing, fault-finding, and solving problems under pressure — there may come a point where you start to think about what’s next.
This role offers exactly that: the opportunity to step into training, share your hard-earned expertise, and shape the future of the electrical industry — without losing the professionalism, structure, or respect you’re used to.
We’re partnering with a highly regarded engineering and technical training provider, known for its strong industry links, modern facilities, and commitment to doing things properly. They’re now looking for an Electrical Installation Instructor to join their growing team.
This is not about standing at a whiteboard all day. It’s about real-world learning, practical skills, and supporting learners to become confident, capable electricians.
Ready for a career that gives back?
Main Purpose
You’ll work as part of an established instructor team, delivering high-quality training to apprentices and adult learners across electrical installation and maintenance disciplines.
Responsibilities
Your work will include:
- Delivering practical, hands-on training aligned with current industry standards
- Supporting learners through installation, inspection, testing, and certification
- Contributing to commercial and short-course delivery where appropriate
- Acting as a mentor and role model for developing electricians
You’ll be primarily based at one site, with some travel between regional centres and occasional visits to client locations. Because of this, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
This organisation genuinely believes that great training starts with looking after the people who deliver it. Instructors are trusted professionals — supported, listened to, and encouraged to grow.
You’ll benefit from:
- 42 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays), with flexibility throughout the year
- A structured Christmas shutdown — no chasing leave approvals
- Consistent weekday hours: Monday–Thursday: 8:00–4:15 & Friday: 8:00–4:00
- Annual performance-related bonus
- Generous pension scheme (7% employer contribution)
- Private healthcare after a qualifying period
- Life assurance at 4x salary
- Free on-site parking and branded workwear
- A supportive, professional culture where instructors are respected
Importantly, this is not term-time only work — but the generous holiday allowance and sensible hours offer excellent work–life balance.
If you don’t yet hold a teaching qualification, that’s absolutely fine.
This employer actively welcomes experienced electricians who are new to education. Any required teaching or assessor qualifications will be fully funded, with structured support from experienced colleagues. You’ll complete the training alongside your role, with guidance every step of the way.
What they value most is industry credibility, professionalism, and a willingness to help others succeed.
You’ll be an experienced electrician who takes pride in your work and wants to pass that standard on to others.
You’re likely to have:
- A Level 3 electrical qualification or completed apprenticeship
- Strong commercial or industrial experience
- Confidence in installation, inspection, testing, and certification
- Good communication skills and a calm, professional approach
Teaching experience is not essential — patience, credibility, and a genuine interest in developing people matter far more.
