Engineering Lecturer

Are you a passionate and experienced engineering professional ready to take the next step in your career?

A leading engineering training provider with centres across Hull, Grimsby, and Scunthorpe is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Engineering Lecturer to join their growing team. This is your opportunity to make a tangible difference by training the next generation of engineers, helping them develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving industry.

This isn’t your typical teaching role—it’s a chance to bring your industry experience into the classroom, support learners at Levels 3 to 5, and play a vital part in shaping the future of UK engineering.

Main Purpose

Your work will mainly be classroom-based, but you’ll also play a key role in mentoring and guiding learners through real-world applications and projects.

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging and practical learning sessions to apprentices and adult learners, covering a wide range of topics such as:

  • Engineering Maths & Mechanical Principles
  • Engineering Science & Design
  • CAD & Fluid Mechanics
  • Health & Safety and Lean Manufacturing Techniques
  • Quality and Process Improvement
  • Professional Engineering Management
  • Supervision of Level 3 & 4 engineering projects and Level 5 research assignments

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in experienced engineering professionals who are enthusiastic about sharing their expertise and empowering others. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A degree in engineering or a related discipline (essential)
  • Solid industry experience in engineering or manufacturing
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage learners
  • Strong IT and technical know-how
  • A teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) is desirable—but not essential. If you don’t yet have one, full funding and support will be provided to complete it alongside your role (in your own time)

Please note: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential, as regular travel between the Hull, Grimsby, and Scunthorpe sites is required. Public transport is not a practical option.

Benefits

  • 42 days annual leave (including bank holidays) – we ask staff to reserve 7 days for the Christmas shutdown
  • Annual performance-related bonus
  • Life insurance (4x annual salary)
  • Private healthcare (after 3 months’ service)
  • Pension scheme: 5% employee / 7% employer contributions
  • Branded workwear provided
  • Free on-site parking
