Engineering Lecturer

Have you reached a point in your engineering career where you want more meaning from your work — without sacrificing stability, progression, or work–life balance?

This is a rare opportunity to step into education with the full backing of a well-established engineering training organisation that genuinely invests in its people. They’re expanding their team and are now looking for an Engineering Lecturer to join their Hull-based centre, supporting apprentices and adult learners who are building long-term careers in engineering.

Whether you’re already teaching or coming straight from industry, this role offers purpose, security, and the chance to shape the next generation of skilled engineers.

This position is about far more than delivering lessons. It’s about sharing real-world experience, inspiring confidence, and helping learners see what’s possible in their own careers.

Main Purpose

You’ll work with motivated apprentices and adult learners, delivering engaging, practical engineering education that reflects modern industry. Your knowledge and insight will help bridge the gap between theory and practice — and for many learners, you’ll be the person who makes engineering click.

For those new to teaching, this is a supportive and structured environment where you’ll be encouraged to grow. If you don’t already hold a teaching qualification, you’ll be supported to complete one — with the cost covered by the employer — while developing your confidence in the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging engineering sessions across classroom and workshop environments.
  • Supporting learners through Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications and projects
  • Using your industry experience to bring learning to life
  • Providing guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback
  • Contributing to a positive, professional learning culture
  • Travelling between local training sites when required

Your main base will be Hull, with occasional travel to two other regional sites. Because of this, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

Who this role is perfect for

This role will appeal to you if you:

  • Hold a degree in engineering (or a closely related subject)
  • Have solid, relevant industry experience
  • Enjoy explaining technical concepts and supporting others to succeed
  • Are ready for a more balanced, long-term career path
  • Want to feel valued, supported, and invested in

You do not need teaching experience to apply. Many successful lecturers in this organisation have transitioned directly from industry and found education to be an incredibly rewarding next step.
