Hairdressing Academy Training Co-ordinator (Part-Time 0.8)
Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of hair professionals? Do you thrive in an environment where you can share your skills, support learner journeys, and collaborate with like-minded educators?
We’re working with a forward-thinking training provider who is looking to add a Hairdressing Academy Training Co-ordinator to their Camden-based team. This is a rewarding part-time opportunity for someone who loves the hair industry and wants to make a meaningful impact in education, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of hair professionals? Do you thrive in an environment where you can share your skills, support learner journeys, and collaborate with like-minded educators?
Main Purpose
As a Training Co-ordinator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting apprentices on their journey to qualification—delivering high-quality training in both practical and theoretical aspects of hairdressing, ensuring learners are engaged, supported, and progressing.
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering practical and classroom-based training aligned to apprenticeship standards.
- Coaching and mentoring apprentices to help them grow in confidence and skill.
- Delivering and supporting learners with Functional Skills in Maths and English where required.
- Conducting regular progress reviews and updating Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
- Working collaboratively with salon employers and in-house teams to ensure training needs are met.
- Carrying out assessments and tracking learner progress using internal systems and e-portfolios.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, and learner welfare at all times.
- Attending regular standardisation meetings, CPD sessions, and contributing to the ongoing development of educational materials.
- Supporting new apprentice enrolments and acting as a positive ambassador for apprenticeship learning.
What we’re looking for:
- A qualified assessor (A1, TAQA, or equivalent) with experience in hairdressing training and assessment.
- A teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent) – or willingness to work towards one.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage your own caseload.
- Confident communication skills – able to build trust with learners, employers, and team members.
- A proactive, learner-first mindset with a genuine interest in supporting individual growth and wellbeing.
- Experience working in or with hair salons and a good understanding of apprenticeship delivery requirements.
- A good working knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values in an education setting.
Why this role?
- Work for a respected organisation with a reputation for quality in apprenticeship delivery.
- Flexible 4-day working pattern to suit your lifestyle.
- Camden-based academy location, with opportunities to visit salons and connect with industry partners.
- Supportive leadership and collaborative team culture.
- Opportunities for continuous professional development and growth.
- Be part of something meaningful—changing lives through education and skills.
Whether you’re currently working in training and want a better work-life balance, or you’re a salon professional looking to take your career in a new direction, this is a brilliant opportunity to make a difference.
