Main Purpose
This is meaningful work—supporting people at a critical point in their lives, empowering them to build skills, confidence and aspirations for long-term employment or learning.
Responsibilities
In this rewarding role, you will:
- Provide tailored, one-to-one careers information, advice and guidance that meets each person’s unique needs.
- Manage a varied caseload, supporting individuals to progress into sustained learning or employment.
- Use up-to-date labour market insights to guide people towards realistic, meaningful opportunities.
- Build productive relationships with prison staff, governors and partner agencies to ensure consistent engagement.
- Deliver support through a mix of platforms, including the Virtual Campus, group workshops and face-to-face sessions.
- Create clear, high-quality action plans that inspire individuals to move forward with confidence.
- Work collaboratively with wider careers and employability services to track outcomes and streamline support.
Every day brings new conversations, new challenges and new opportunities to make a difference.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who combines empathy with motivation and structure—able to support individuals while keeping sight of performance goals and positive outcomes.
We’re looking for:
- An NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Advice & Guidance, DipCG or an equivalent qualification (or commitment to working towards CDI Licence to Practise requirements).
- Experience delivering employment, careers or learning outcomes—ideally within a custodial or similarly challenging setting.
- Confidence delivering both one-to-one and group guidance sessions to a high standard.
- Strong digital skills, including use of online platforms within the Virtual Campus.
- A warm, approachable style and the resilience to support individuals with complex backgrounds.
If you’re motivated by seeing people grow, progress and achieve their potential, you’ll thrive here.
Why join this organisation?
