Learner Engagement Advisor

Main Purpose

As a Learner Engagement Advisor, you will be at the heart of learner recruitment and onboarding. Your role will be about inspiring people, providing them with clear and supportive guidance, and ensuring they are matched with the right training pathway.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, and enrol learners onto training programmes
  • Provide high-quality Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) to ensure learners choose the right course
  • Check eligibility for funding and maintain compliance with programme requirements
  • Attend careers fairs, school/college events, and local recruitment activities to promote opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with learners, referral partners, and employers
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports for the wider team
  • Support colleagues across the engagement function, working together to meet overall recruitment and enrolment targets

About You

This role would suit someone with strong people skills, a background in recruitment, interviewing, customer service, or learner engagement, and a real passion for helping others succeed.

You should have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your workload effectively
  • Strong IT skills, including spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office
  • A confident, enthusiastic, and approachable personality
  • GCSE Grade 4–9 in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

It would be an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience within education, training, or employability support
  • A qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)
  • Knowledge of government-funded training programmes
