Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging lessons in Functional Skills and GCSE Maths and English.
- Adapt teaching approaches based on learners’ needs, initial assessments, and prior learning.
- Inspire and motivate learners to reach their full potential through confidence-building and support.
- Monitor learner progress, conduct reviews, and implement effective interventions where needed.
- Deliver group sessions, one-to-one support, and individualised learning plans.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all teaching and learning activities.
- Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a focused and supportive environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across delivery, support, and safeguarding teams.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and learner development.
- Ensure full compliance with internal quality, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures.
About You:
You will need to have:
- A recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 4).
- English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE or Functional Skills).
- Experience teaching Functional Skills and/or GCSE English and Maths.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A learner-centred approach, able to differentiate effectively and adapt your delivery.
- Resilience, creativity, and the ability to engage learners who may have experienced barriers to learning.
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience working with disengaged or vulnerable learners.
- Experience in both classroom and workplace-based delivery.
- Strong IT skills and confidence using digital tools for teaching and tracking progress.
- A flexible, proactive approach to supporting learners across multiple locations (if required).
