Mechanical Instructor

Educated Appointments are delighted to be supporting a rapidly expanding Group Training Association with training centres in Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe to hire a Mechanical Instructor.

Our client are an Ofsted graded 2 'Good' training provider, which delivers Apprenticeships and both standard and bespoke upskill training courses, providing accredited, industry recognised training from a beginner to an advanced level, all of our courses and standards are taught by highly experienced staff to ensure you receive the best possible training.

Main Purpose

We recruit industry specialists who want to make the career change to delivering training and skills.

We are looking for an experienced Machining Engineer who feels they have the right skills and attributes to pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation of engineers. Some Process experience would be desirable but is not essential.

This position is based at the our training centre in Grimsby and entails delivering high quality apprenticeship and commercial training for our client companies.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant must have experience in:

  • Manual Lathe/Milling Machine operation.
  • Mechanical planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • Safe use of Hand Tools.
  • Health & Safety practices and procedures.

A working knowledge of CAD and/or mechanical planned and reactive maintenance is desirable not essential.

The successful applicant also needs:

  • A minimum of Level 3 Engineering qualification
  • Good interpersonal and computer skills
  • Full Driving licence

Whilst assessor and teaching qualifications are desirable, they are not essential as full support will be given in the development of necessary skills.

Our client is committed to safeguarding our learners and successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check, and to register on a suitable instructor/teacher training programme.

Company Benefits:

  • 42 days annual leave (including bank holidays). We ask that all staff save 7 days to take during the Christmas shut down between Christmas and New Year. Holidays can be requested at any other time of the year (we do not work school term times).
  • Our working hours are: Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 4:15 and Friday 8:00 – 4:00.
