Regional Account Manager
Lead the Relationships That Shape the Future of Skills
Are you an experienced account manager with a commercial mindset and a passion for building long-lasting client relationships? Do you thrive in a role where every conversation can lead to meaningful impact — for businesses, for learners, and for the future of work?
We’re recruiting for a talented and strategic Regional Account Manager on behalf of a nationally respected training provider that delivers high-quality apprenticeships, professional training, and workforce development programmes to employers across the country.
This is your opportunity to take ownership of a diverse employer portfolio and play a central role in growing apprenticeship provision, influencing workforce strategies, and delivering value to clients and communities alike.
Our client is one of the UK’s largest and most trusted providers of skills and training, working with employers of all sizes to deliver apprenticeships, commercial training, and workforce development solutions. Their mission is rooted in social impact — helping people of all backgrounds build brighter futures through education, skills, and opportunity.
With decades of experience, a reputation for quality, and a dynamic, forward-thinking culture, they are proud to support thousands of learners and hundreds of employers across multiple sectors — including digital, engineering, health and social care, business services, and more.
This role is central to their continued growth — and you’ll be joining a business that values both performance and purpose.
Lead the Relationships That Shape the Future of Skills
Main Purpose
As Regional Account Manager, you’ll be at the heart of employer engagement. You’ll act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of strategic clients — typically apprenticeship levy-paying employers — helping them navigate training solutions, unlock new opportunities, and deliver real results through apprenticeships and skills development.
In parallel, you’ll identify and win new business across your region, helping more organisations discover the value of investing in people and creating meaningful apprenticeship opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of approx. 35 high-value employer accounts, with a focus on relationship-building, retention, and apprenticeship growth
- Acting as the trusted advisor to clients, helping them shape their skills strategies and access training provision that aligns with their business goals
- Identifying new business opportunities within and beyond your existing accounts, working proactively to win new clients and grow market share in your region
- Collaborating with internal teams — including curriculum, delivery, and quality — to design tailored, client-focused solutions
- Creating detailed account plans and maintaining up-to-date CRM records and sales pipelines
- Representing the organisation at industry events, client meetings, and sector briefings
- Meeting performance targets for learner starts, client meetings, and revenue generation
- Staying ahead of policy changes, funding developments, and skills shortages — and using that insight to drive smarter employer conversations
About You: What We’re Looking For
You’ll be ambitious, commercially astute, and motivated by helping businesses succeed through people development. This is a consultative role, not a quick-sale environment — so you’ll need to be relationship-led, curious, and genuinely interested in making a difference.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in B2B sales, business development, or key account management
- Strong understanding of employer engagement and skills development, ideally within apprenticeships or training
- Proven ability to grow and retain strategic accounts and develop long-term business relationships
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and decision-makers in corporate settings
- Experience using CRM systems and sales tracking tools to manage performance and reporting
- Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and deliver against targets
- Willingness and ability to travel across the North West or Midlands region
- A valid UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Knowledge of apprenticeship funding, workforce development, or the wider skills and training sector
- An existing network of employer or stakeholder contacts within your region
- Experience working in or with education providers or apprenticeship training providers
What’s in It for You?
- A full-time, permanent position with a respected, high-impact training organisation
- Competitive salary up to £36,000 per annum
- Flexible hybrid working model, with regional travel
- Clear progression opportunities and ongoing CPD
- A values-led culture that supports inclusion, wellbeing, and innovation
- The chance to make a genuine difference to people’s lives and local economies through skills and education
You won’t just be chasing numbers — you’ll be building relationships that result in real career opportunities for learners, stronger workforces for businesses, and long-term change for communities.
